The first land on earth, which emerged out of the ocean, do you know that place is located in this state of India?

There was a time when the entire earth was only inside the ocean, that is, there was only water on the surface. After that, some parts of the earth first came out of the ocean, but which was the area that came out first? Recently scientists have found the answer to this and the surprising thing is that the area that came out of the ocean first is in India and is still out of the ocean.

This week, scientists made two interesting discoveries. First, Earth’s earliest continents emerged from the ocean 700 million years earlier than previously estimated. Second, the first land to rise above the sea, about 3.2 billion years ago, was in India. Published this Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a study by scientists from India, Australia and the US found what was the earliest crust to come into contact with Earth’s atmosphere

He explained how he made this discovery. For this, he analyzed the sandstones of Singhbhum region of Jharkhand. In this, geological signs of ancient river channels, tidal plains and beaches were found which are more than 3 billion years old.

During the study, the researchers also tried to understand what forced the landmass of Singhbhum to move out of the sea. “The sandstones tell us ‘when’ and the granite tells us ‘how’,” said Choudhary. Interestingly, the findings in this regard were also surprising.

“About 3.5 to 3.2 billion years ago, some hot magma beneath Earth’s crust thickened parts of the craton. This made it rich in lighter materials, such as silica and quartz. This process made the craton ‘physically thicker and chemically lighter’ than the denser rock surrounding it, and thus caused the craton to rise up and out of the water, LiveScience reports. Over time, its crust thickened to about 50 kilometers, causing it to float on top of the water, like an iceberg floating on water.”
